Description

The mission of the 正澳门六合彩开奖直播 First Year Student e-Mentoring Program is to ease the transition of new students to college and provide a supportive environment for academic success and personal growth. The program helps each new student connect with peers, upperclassmen and the institution as a whole.

A First Year Student e-Mentor is a full-time undergraduate student who leads a group of approximately 12 to 25 new students throughout the first semester of their career at 正澳门六合彩开奖直播, beginning at summer Orientation and concluding at the end of the 2024 fall semester.

Objectives

  • To acquaint new students with all aspects of 正澳门六合彩开奖直播.
  • To provide a resourceful environment for academic enrichment and personal growth.
  • To support interactions and connections with peers, staff and faculty.
  • To promote participation in meaningful campus activities.

Qualifications

  • In order to apply for a FYS e-Mentor position, you must:
  • Hold full-time undergraduate status.
  • Have a 2.5 cumulative grade point average or higher (as of Dec. 31, 2022).
  • Possess no active academic or disciplinary sanctions.
  • Be available for all mandatory mentor events (outlined in the Important Dates section).

Expectations

  • Attend all meetings and events for First-Year Students e-Mentors.
  • Complete all mentoring programming components.
  • Establish a climate of trust, support, and encouragement.
  • Set positive examples for others in personal, academic, and social behavior.
  • Be knowledgeable about campus services for appropriate referral.
  • Lead and facilitate group discussion and activity.
  • Attend and encourage attendance at various University sponsored events.
  • Adhere to all guidelines set forth in the First Year Student e-Mentor contract and manual.

The Office of Student Development invites applicants for the position of Student Civic Engagement Coordinator for the 2024 First-Year Student Orientation, a part time student staff position (April-May) with transition to a full-time student staff position (June-August).

The successful candidate is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Civic Engagement component of Welcome Weekend. The candidate will work directly with Orientation Committee members and community partners to plan and execute civic engagement projects. In addition, the position will provide support for the Student Orientation Coordinator, Student e-Mentor Coordinator and Orientation staff.

Candidates with prior civic engagement experience are preferred. The Office of Student Development invites applicants for the position of Student e-Mentor Coordinator for the 2024 First-Year Student Orientation and fall semester. This position will be active April through December. Spring training, summer Orientation sessions, Welcome Weekend activities and fall semester programming will be areas of focus.

The successful candidate is responsible for coordinating all e-Mentor responsibilities for

First-Year Student Orientation and the fall semester. The candidate will work directly with Orientation Committee members to coordinate correspondence between the e-Mentor staff and first-year students, in addition to assisting with student leader training and event organization. Lastly, the position will provide support for the Student Orientation Coordinator, Student Civic Engagement Coordinator and Orientation staff. On-campus housing will be available, if needed. Work will be accomplished both virtually and In-person.

The Office of Student Development invites applicants for the position of Student Orientation/e-Mentor Social Media Coordinator for the 2024 First-Year Student Orientation. This position will be active April through December, throughout summer Orientation sessions, Welcome Weekend and the fall semester.

The successful candidate is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the promoting Orientation and the e-Mentoring program via social media channels. The candidate will work directly with Orientation Committee members and University Marketing/Communications staff to develop original content and suggest creative ways to keep students and families informed prior to, during and after Orientation. In addition, the position will provide support for the Orientation staff. A strong understanding of video and design is preferred. Work will be accomplished both virtually and in-person.

The Office of Student Development invites applicants for the position of Student Orientation Coordinator for the 2024 First-Year Student Orientation, a part time student staff position (April-May) with transition to a full-time student staff position (June-August). The successful candidate is responsible for assisting in the planning and coordination of First-Year Student Orientation and Welcome Weekend.

The candidate will work directly with Orientation Committee members to execute all aspects of the Orientation and Welcome Weekend process, serving as the main contact for email and phone correspondence with incoming students and families. The position will be providing support in theme development, student leader training, logistics coordination and event scheduling. In addition, the position will assist in the coordination of campus resources and communication between the University, students, and families. On-campus housing will be available, if needed. Face-to-face, on campus work will be required.

Candidates must have Junior or Senior status by May 2024.
